Scots Bearings comes through for World Leading Drinks Manufacturer
On a visit to one of our prestigious clients, Scots Bearings Ltd, Scotland’s Largest Independent Supplier of Bearings and Power Transmission Products, were asked if we had a product that could help reduce noise levels and the use of water and soap on conveyor table-top chains. After discussing all the issue’s with their Site Process Technologist it was clear our client had their own in-house environmental policies at mind and were aiming to be well within the Government’s environmental limits. It was also highlighted that the existing table-top chain created a dust residue when in use which required cleaning on a daily basis. This in turn meant daily down-time and loss of production.
After reviewing all the issue’s Scots Bearings called upon one of the world’s leading manufacturers in table-top chains, Regina.
After several visits and discussions with our client it was clear Regina had the product that met with all their requirements and from here it was just a case of conveying the line in question to determine what maintenance and fabrication work had to be undertaken before the installation.
The product
Regina’s Delrin Kevlar (DK) Table-top Chain
Since the launch of the DK product Regina have had massive success through-out the bottle manufacturing and bottling industries. Regina, in conjunction with DuPont, created conveyor belts and chains manufactured from Delrin and Kevlar which have the exceptional properties of wear resistance and a very low coefficient of friction. The Regina product provides a solution for those conveying applications where minimum or no lubrication can be used without compromising line output or efficiency. Specifically, Regina DK product can operate with little or no lubrication which;
- Saves the cost of lubrication and other product inputs
- Creates a cleaner, safer and noise reducing environment
- Minimizes or eliminates dust on the conveyed scanned product
- Reduces current through line Gearboxes and Motors giving massive savings on Electricity
After delivery and installation of the DK product to their conveyor line our client have expressed their delight that Scots Bearings Ltd and Regina have met with all their requirements in such a demanding environment and thanked both companies for their exceptional support.

This product has now been running 19 months and has met all customer & environmental issue’s. Through this success our client has asked Scots Bearings Ltd and Regina chain to convey a further two lines which are now being replaced with the DK product.
